The North Face

The North Face; when most people think of this brand they may think that it is an expensive clothing line. People may wear this brand because it gives them a higher social status or it can show their wealth. Although, this company is so much more than that. This company represents adventure, risk, empowerment, authenticity, and perseverance.

The North Face takes pride in their company and what they have to offer. They are so confident in their company and want to make sure their customers are getting the most out of their money. They offer a life time warranty guarantee. This is stating that if the customers sweatshirt, climbing shoes, or sleeping bag  gets ruined they will send them a new one for free. This is a bold choice that they are making. It is declaring that at anytime from when the purchase it should last them forever. This makes it more appealing in the consumers mind when they swipe their credit card for $150. If this expensive purchase gets ruined they will automatically get a new one not matter how old it is. Instead of this company putting a 30-90 day free return and money back guarantee it may not settle easy with the customer. In the customers mind they only have so many days to return it and after that expired date they are stuck with it. This could be a deciding factor between this brand and another brand. They are trying to promote that their material and brand is the best in the game.

On their Instagram page they have recently posted an ad, which has came across very inspiring and sentimental. Their main focus is "Learning to Drown" featuring a famous snowboarder, Jess Kimura. People who follow this Instagram page are most likely to be people who wear North Face, are outdoorsy, and adventurous. They know what it is like pushing yourself to the limit. People who snowboard, hike, rock climb, competitively swim, camp and so much more can relate to this ad. They have all had a point in their journey where they have came to an obstacle where they have to make the same choice that Jess Kimura had to. Sink or swim. This ad was so relatable to so many people and was very remarkable.

On this post people were amazed. They were commenting "Great Film, 10/10, Obsessed, thank you for this film. Love Love Love." The North Face account recognized that and was commenting back to their comments. They appreciated that their followers enjoyed the content that they put out. I thought that this North Face Instagram account did a very good job reaching back out to those who commented. They were making their followers feel seen.

This was my response to  one of their many great comments on this post.

If I were a brand manager for this company I would continue to spread positivity and encouragement. I did notice that when this post got more comments they stopped commenting on everyone. I would make sure to give recognition to everyone even if that is just liking the comment.

Overall, The North Face is a company that has integrity, value, commitment, and success. This company strives to provide the best product that they can. I think they do a great job with their connection with their customers and they value what they have to say. Doing this assignment I learned the importance of believing in the product you sell. Having the bargaining power to say your product is great is very important and can make your company successful. There are not a lot of companies that can say they guarantee their product will last for a lifetime.
